I'm a pianist, composer, and computer musician who is passionate about music education. I believe in the power of music in our daily lives and I believe anyone can learn to play an instrument. In addition to my private teaching, I currently teach piano at Metropolitan State University of Denver, and have taught a variety of courses at the University of Colorado Boulder.
My bachelor's degree is in piano performance and pedagogy from West Texas A&M University. I earned my master's in composition at the University of North Texas, and completed my doctorate in music composition at the University of Colorado Boulder.
As a performer, I've played with ensembles and orchestras across the United States and am equally comfortable as a soloist. As a composer, I've written works for orchestra, the stage, chamber ensembles, and interactive and fixed electronics. My debut album Asnières was released in June of 2020.
Interested in writing your own music? I offer lessons in electronic and acoustic composition, as well as songwriting and the music theory to get you there.
Preparing to study music in College? My music theory lessons will prepare you for the entrance exams and get you starting your degree on the right foot.
I offer sessions in the fundamentals of electronic music and music production, including synthesis, MIDI, mixing, digital signal processing, sound design, interactive electronics, and multimedia. Included in the lessons are sessions on the digital audio workstation of your choice, including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
